Our SIM cards are made from 100% PET-g, a type of recycled plastic that significantly reduces our carbon footprint. The card holder size has also been reduced by 50%, further minimizing the use of plastic. In addition, we've opted for custom printing on smaller scale orders, which allows us to produce only what we need and minimize waste.
Our decision to use 100% PET-g is not just an environmentally-friendly choice but also a compliant one. The use of this material aligns with European Directives 2011/65/EC (RoHS) and 1907/2006/EC (Reach), which aim to limit the use of certain dangerous materials in EU supply chains.
The Environmental Impact
By choosing to use recycled plastic for our SIM cards, we're actively reducing our reliance on virgin plastics. This decision has a significant impact on the environment as it reduces greenhouse gas emissions, conserves water and energy, and reduces the amount of waste that ends up in our landfills and oceans.
With our initial order of 5000 cards alone, we managed to save 50kg of plastic, equivalent to 10,000 plastic water bottles! This is a clear demonstration of how even small steps can make a big difference when it comes to sustainability.
